Who decides what music you listen to? Is it you?

"A customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black."
(Commonly attributed to Henry Ford.)

If someone---lets just purly hypothetically say a large, multinational, media company---chooses what options you have; is it then really you who decide?

We are today stuck in a kind of "virtual monopoly", where large businesses decides both on what music you can chose from, and what price you should pay.

I have no idea how we entered this limited state of mind.

I will let you in on a secret: New music is being created every day. Millions of people, young and old, enjoy the creative experience of creating and performing unique pieces of culture. There are plenty of "choices" to go around. There is no monopoly!

If you like to listen to music, surprise yourself and go find some unique music on the Internet today; something you yourself choose. Something that no businessman has decided is "suitable for commercial consumption", but you decide to like anyway.

It does not have to be here at Anytist; the Internet is a big place. Just break free from the limited state of mind that "all music is being owned by the big companies".

And if you are one of these Artists that produce music; make your music available for others to find! Either here at Anytist (if you like our concept), or (if not) through your own website. But please make it available somewhere; to prove that Artists are everywhere.

And so, lets take back our culture from the industry giants.
